Mission Statement The Electric Car Curriculum strives to enlighten and empower 7th and 8th grade students in a safe and inclusive atmosphere with skills and information that will be useful in their future lives. Students will implement the technological design process of research, problem solving, analysis, management, and presentation to their peers, the community, and industry sources. It is a cross-curricular program that emphasizes team building and interpersonal skills, responsibility to the group, time management, and integrated engineering. Heavy emphasis will be given to the development and understanding of Ohm’s Law as it relates to the design of efficient energy systems. Students will be introduced to nontraditional transportation sources, which include electric, solar, and hydrogen fuel cells. Students will also become aware of problems associated with the commercial development of environmentally friendly vehicles. |
